This Privacy Policy explains how Got Live Bait LLC collects, uses, and protects information when using the Bait Locator App.
2. Information We Collect
A. Location Information
Used to show bait shops near you.
You may:
- Allow real-time location access, or
- Enter a manual search location (address, city, or ZIP code) instead of sharing location
B. Account Information
- Email address
- Username
- Password (encrypted — never stored as plain text)
C. Business Account Information (if applicable)
- Business name, address, phone number, or store details
D. Device & Usage Information
- Device type, operating system, crash logs
- Anonymous analytics data
E. Advertising Information
We work with ad partners who may collect general location data to personalize ads if permission is granted.
We do not sell personal information.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
- Provide map and search results
- Allow business listings and updates
- Notify business accounts of conflict reports
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Display ads and measure ad effectiveness
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained while the account remains active.
Accounts inactive for 2 years are automatically deleted.
5. Data Sharing
We may share limited, non-identifiable data with:
- Advertising and analytics partners
- Service providers supporting App functionality
We do not sell or trade personal data.
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable protections, including:
- Encrypted passwords
- Access controls
However, no system is 100% secure.

10. Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. We provide two methods for account deletion:
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The easiest way to delete your account is directly through the Bait Locator app:
- Sign in to your Bait Locator account
- Navigate to your User Profile
- Select the "Delete Account" option
- Confirm your deletion request
Your account and associated data will be deleted immediately upon confirmation.
Method 2: Email-Based Deletion Request
If you are unable to access the app, you may request account deletion by email. You do not need to log in to request deletion via email, but you must email from the account email address that was used to register your account to confirm your identity.
To request deletion via email:
- Send an email from your registered account email address to: accountdeletionsupport@baitlocator.com
- Include "Account and data deletion" in the subject line or body
- State that you wish to delete your account and all associated data
Important: For security and identity verification, you must send the deletion request from the email address associated with your Bait Locator account. Requests sent from other email addresses cannot be processed.
What Data is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently deleted:
- Your account information (email address, username, password)
- Your user profile information
- All bait stock reports you submitted as a customer
- Your favorite bait shops list
- Your search history and preferences
- For business accounts: Your business listing, shop information, and all business-related stock reports
What Data May Be Retained
Some data may be retained for legitimate business or legal purposes:
- Anonymized Analytics Data: Aggregated, non-personally identifiable analytics data may be retained for app improvement purposes
- Legal Requirements: Data required to be retained by law, regulation, or legal process
- Backup Systems: Data may persist in backup systems for a limited time (typically up to 30 days) before being permanently deleted
- Public Reports: Historical bait stock reports that were publicly visible may remain in anonymized form for community benefit, but will no longer be associated with your account
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are typically processed within 7-14 business days. For in-app deletions, the account is deleted immediately upon confirmation. For email-based requests, processing begins once identity is verified (typically within 1-2 business days), and deletion is completed within 7-14 business days from the initial request.
You will receive a confirmation email once your account and data have been deleted.
